GET FIT TN: It's time to GET FIT Tennessee!

No Smoking sign

Tennesseans are now able to breathe smoke-free at numerous restaurants, hotels, and many other establishments as a result of the Tennessee Non-Smokers Protection Act. It was signed into law in June of 2007, which makes it illegal to smoke in most places where people work.

Why should I quit?

Harmful chemicals

Join the thousands of Tennesseans who have decided that now is the time to quit smoking for good! Research shows that your body gets more than nicotine when you smoke. There are more than 4,000 harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke. Some of them are also found in wood varnish, arsenic, nail polish remover, and rat poison. The ashes, tar, gases, and other poisons in cigarettes harm your body over time, damaging your heart and lungs. They also weaken your sense of taste and smell, and your body's ability to fight infections.
